In the shop

The Bay Butcher is a single-story storefront at 96 South Street. If anything about getting in or being served would be easier with a hand, call the counter on (516) 273-6733 before you come and we will meet you at the door.

• Curbside. Call ahead and we will bring the order out to the car, wrapped and weighed. This is a standing offer, not a holiday-week concession.
• Parking. There is a public lot one block away on South Street and on-street parking on the surrounding blocks.
• At the counter. Tell us what you need and how you would like it done. Nothing in the case is pre-cut, so nothing has to be taken as it comes.

On this website

This site is built to be usable without a mouse, without JavaScript, and without seeing it. In practice that means:

• Semantic headings and landmarks, and a skip link to the main content on every page.
• Every control reachable and operable from the keyboard, with a visible focus ring that is never removed.
• Text and interface colors checked against WCAG AA contrast — including the type over the photographs, which is measured against the rendered image rather than guessed at.
• Descriptive alternative text on photographs that carry information, and empty alt text on the ones that are decoration, so a screen reader is not made to read out the same thing twice.
• Animation that respects prefers-reduced-motion. With it on, everything settles immediately in place. With JavaScript off, nothing is hidden.
• The order form works as a plain form post and does not depend on scripting.
